I’m a society shifter,
once the words and thought
concepts are formulated,
how can they be implemented
individually and societally
to bring about lasting change?

and let spirit do its own bidding,
leading from and for your heart.

madness and miracles

He feels like we should come, that boy,
not for the sake of himself,
but for all the others,
their natures are ensnared
beneath trappings of their own making,
a sign certainly of the need for salvation,
with so much externalized-
work, blame, joy, even love -
the strength housed in their own spirit
grows more distant.
“They are losing themselves,” the boy cries.
“You need to come to remind them who they are.”
And so we do,
though not in the way the boy had hoped,
we come through escalation of intensity
and emboldening of those connected with spirit,
we come through elevation of those ready
to rise above the solemn state,
through this all things will be remade.
“Rest assured,” the boy hears in his dreams,
“that we are already with you,
have always been with you.
The space you find yourselves in
is steadily moving to rebirth,
as the nature surrounding you
rises and falls, dies and is reborn,
so too are all of you.
Maintain your own spirit
through faith in yourself,
in us and your collective future.
You will never be forsaken.”
The boy woke
with a renewed sense of peace in his heart,
ready to hold space
for believers and non-believers alike,
knowing that there exists no judgment in true love,
and so love he shall be,
the others will get there soon enough.
________
Might you remand us further
if you knew what we would do to ourselves,
or is that not your approach,
for now appears as good a time as any
for the remanding.
________
Isolated from the outside -
is isolation from the inside
a symptom of displacement from me?
________
The spirit of things can never be erased,
no matter how hard we insist or try,
it is always present in all things,
this insight alone could change our world.
________
I am so touched by those of you
who demand more of yourselves,
through this, more shall arrive,
together, we will make sure of it.

growth, change and expansion,

but generations to come.

So much distance
between here and there,
what shall we fill it with,
the choice is in our hands.

Be like the trees
bathed in wisdom
without force

existing
accepting
loving
nothing more
nothing less
no need for change
or fight
or superiority
all powerful in its nature
all the more benevolent.
________
Let’s carry each other,
I’d like that.

Here is where Rumi recounted his second book,
amidst the highlands and lowlands
of a world untouched by modern conveniences,
amidst the stillness made possible by solace itself,
where do you forge your solitude,
after an exhaustive hankering
to do more, be more, accomplish more,
after a long night of sleepless wandering,
rarely, my child,
the space of contemplation is more than an afterthought,
it is an opening into a world of peace, truth and imagination,
it is the object of your yearning and seeking,
it is a coming home even in the briefest of moments,
it deserves intention and attention,
you might not write a book per se,
but the musings of your heart, our heart,
will become clear,
let’s take a moment, shall we?
________
Peaceful meanderings,
breathless encounters,
tapestry sewn of invisible steps,
spaces unraveled revealing the illusion,
without the pomp and circumstance
of a proper homecoming,
symbolism made stronger by such resistance,
resettlement shall start another day,
today, nothingness is where
my disappearing feet belong.
________
The price of keeping it all together
is an unraveling of connective tissue,
making the physical entangled in itself,
universality and glory of truth isolated
further and further into a maze of materialism.
________
I guess my only recourse
is to swear off guinea pigs,
I’ve sworn off everything else
and still feel incomplete,
is there any way for me
to swear off myself?
when pigs fly,
you reply.
________
The metropolis is carrying him away
as you lay in a field of wildflowers
and wonder where the day will take you.
________
Forge not the scarcity of a senseless mind,
but the abundance of your rightful being,
do you not see the bulbousness of the river,
its strengths as it speeds and slows,
the limitless bounty of the neighboring forest,
the understated infiniteness of air,
or are you afraid of losing that, too,
fabricate not an alternate reality born out of fear,
instead live in the grandeur that surrounds you,
not out of moral righteousness,
but the simple joy of being alive,
held in just this moment,
extraordinary as all nature,
Limitless.

We must have a government that is shared, by the people and for the people. The tenants of sharing, while built into the construct, address an environment and world that look much different today. What does today’s sharing really mean? How can it be accomplished? What does by the people mean in a world of exponential change? What does for the people mean in a world driven and encompassed by technology?
When we were young, our parents, caretakers and teachers taught us what sharing meant. They taught us kindness, care for the person next to us, a relinquishing of I for the purpose of you, an emboldening of we. They didn’t teach a sharing of competition, judgment, hatred and in-fighting. How can a shared government embody the tenants of sharing, so that our democracy becomes once again we the people, a whole people - with I’s not always in agreement, but holding first and foremost the importance of we the people, sharing in trust that the holiness and power of this tenant is worth fighting for.
________
Patience,
a metric unexpressed in today’s world,
could be the counter balance to speed,
amplify that to achieve greater harmony.
